Technical Assistance in Grant Writing and Grant Management Workshop

On October 10, 2018, ORO-Seattle will offer grant writing technical assistance to all current and eligible HRSA grantees.  Held on the grounds of Oregon State University, this one-day workshop will feature two tracks that will take place simultaneously throughout the day.  Track one: Compliance and Evaluation will feature presentations on budgeting for federal grants, financial management, grant administration and data and evaluation. Track two: Grant Development and Partnerships will feature presentations on grant development, grant writing, grant management, and the utilization of telehealth.  The day will end with a power partnering session to encourage engagement amongst stakeholders that have common organizational interests, goals and objectives. The event will also feature a presentation by ORO staff on HRSA grant identification, grant system registration, and grant writing. The goal of this workshop is for participants to hear from subject matter experts on how current and eligible HRSA grantees can utilize funding to enhance access and improve health care delivery, learn how to write responsive grants, and build sustainable partnerships to improve health and wellness.  Please select one of the two educational tracks that best fits your interest.  Register for Track 1: here. Program Description:

This notice solicits applications for the Healthy Tomorrows Partnership for Children Program (HTPCP). The purpose of this program is to support community-based services aimed at improving the health status of children, adolescents, and families in rural and other underserved communities by increasing their access to health services. This program supports HRSA’s goals to improve access to quality health care and services, build healthy communities, and improve health equity. Community-based programs and evidence-based models of care that build on existing community resources will be implemented and evaluated to demonstrate program impact. This program supports collaboration between local pediatric providers and community leaders in an effort to provide quality health care and preventive health services to children, adolescents, and families in rural and other underserved communities. HTPCP funding supports projects that provide clinical or public health services, and does not support research projects. HTPCP applications MUST represent either a new initiative (i.e., project that was not previously in existence) within the community or an innovative new component that builds upon an existing community-based program or initiative.

Rural Health Network Development Planning Program

Program Description:

This notice announces the opportunity to apply for funding under the Rural Health Network Development Planning Program ("Network Planning"). The purpose of the Network Planning program is to assist in the development of an integrated health care network, specifically network participants who do not have a history of formal collaborative efforts in order to: (i) achieve efficiencies; (ii) expand access to, coordinate, and improve the quality of essential health care services; and (iii) strengthen the rural health care system as a whole. A rural health network is defined as an organizational arrangement among at least three separately owned regional or local health care providers that come together to develop strategies for improving health services delivery systems in a community. Health care networks can be an effective strategy to help smaller rural health care providers and health care service organizations align resources and strategies, achieve economies of scale and efficiencies, and address challenges more effectively as a group than as single providers. A rural health network is defined as an organizational arrangement among at least three separately owned regional or local health care providers that come together to develop strategies for improving health services delivery systems in a community.
