NPAIHB is excited to present the Health Data Literacy & Applications for Tribal Health Workshop! This training provides an excellent opportunity to gain (or refresh) skills in finding, understanding, presenting and applying health data.
WHEN: May 2-3, 2018
WHERE: Swinomish Casino & Lodge, Anacortes, Washington
WHO: This will be a very practical skill building session for grant writers, data analysts, health professionals, tribal leaders, policy makers and students.
WHAT: The workshop will cover:
- Health statistics 101
- Where to find public health data for AI/AN communities
- Best practices for presenting data effectively
- How to get started with collecting and mapping data using Open Source Geographic Information System (GIS) software.
- Putting data to use for community development and health programs
COST: Free! There is no registration fee for this workshop, and travel scholarships are available for those who are members of or working with NW Tribes (apply during registration).
