| Although gun violence is often in the news, some aspects of firearm safety get less attention.
For this reason, the October session of Hot Topics in Practice will focus specifically on older adults with cognitive impairments and their risk for injury. This one-hour webinar will review recent data about firearm deaths, including information about populations with Alzheimer’s Disease and its related dementias. The presentation will explore federal and state policies for addressing firearm safety among our aging population with cognitive issues. Participants will also learn about a new intervention toolkit with strategies that promote collaboration and health around this issue.
